Apart from these through my sources I have got know that Mahagun had not acquired all approvals before launching ph2 booking, which is off course against laws. Well I don want to comment here regarding there confidence and strategy they had that time to get approvals., but it's an eye opener for all of us.

The company has gone for deception in a big way and I request if we all unite and make them to supply us the necessary approval docs copies till now. So I advice all ph2 to draft an application to give us the details of approvals till now in unite way.

But unfortunately Mahagun Rep was not in the position to explain the current status and told that there is no any firm date of re-launching and can not confirm when construction will resume again. I think we should meet again at Mahagun office or at site to clarify the issue and to decide the further actions.

It is now very serious concern for all of Phase 2 members.

You are absolutely right.

We should have a formal meeting with Mahagun's top Management to have the actual picture. Request to all Phase 2 members if they can spare some time tomorrow or in next week to have discussions at Mahagun office.
If any body is having any contact in media Inds (News Papers etc) please try to bring them also, if possible.

Let's arrange formal meeting with them, including the top managers from Mahagun pyramid and the same is required to be informed to media.

I am currently in the process of drafting RTI TO GDA to furnish approval to Mahagunpuram. I would request shall try working in this direction else I apprehend Mahagun is taking us in some other way.

Yesterday I discussed with Mahagun representative regarding re-launching of Phase-2 and on construction updates as it was expected to resume by end of Feb, 2013.
But unfortunately Mahagun Rep was not in the position to explain the current status and told that there is no any firm date of re-launching and can not confirm when construction will resume again. I think we should meet again at Mahagun office or at site to clarify the issue and to decide the further actions.

अशोक ओझा, गाजियाबाद यूपी गेट से डासना तक राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग-24 की चौड़ाई बढ़ाने की स्वीकृति केंद्रीय भूतल परिवहन मंत्रालय ने दे दी है। अब जल्द ही लोगों को राजमार्ग पर जाम से निजात मिलेगी। बता दें कि दैनिक जागरण 10 जनवरी से चौड़ा कराना है एनएच 24 व 58 शीर्षक से अभियान चला रहा है। अभियान का ही असर था कि भाजपा के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष एवं सांसद राजनाथ सिंह ने तीन बार इस मुद्दे को लोकसभा में उठाया और केंद्रीय भूतल परिवहन मंत्री पर आश्वासनों की घुट्टी पिलाने का आरोप लगाया। उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री अखिलेश यादव ने भी प्रधानमंत्री को पत्र लिख कर नाराजगी जताई थी और कहा था कि केंद्र सरकार सड़क की चौड़ाई नहीं बढ़ा सकती तो वह सड़क उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार को सौंप दे। प्रदेश सरकार खुद सड़की की चौड़ाई बढ़ा देगी। इस मुद्दे पर 9 फरवरी को गाजियाबाद आरडब्ल्यूए फेडरेशन ने दिल्ली के जंतर मंतर पर धरना दिया था। धरने को भाजपा के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष एवं सांसद राजनाथ सिंह ने भी संबोधित किया था। उन्होंने राजमार्गो की चौड़ाई न बढ़ाए जाने पर चिंता जताई थी। गाजियाबाद विकास प्राधिकरण (जीडीए) के अध्यक्ष एवं उपाध्यक्ष संतोष कुमार यादव ने बताया कि केंद्रीय भूतल परिवहन मंत्रालय ने एनएच 24 को यूपी गेट से डासना तक सड़क की चौड़ाई बढ़ाने की अनुमति प्रदान कर दी है। उन्होंने बताया कि अब इस मार्ग की चौड़ाई बढ़ाने का कार्य लोक निर्माण विभाग का राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग खंड जल्द शुरू करेगा। उधर, केंद्रीय भूतल परिवहन मंत्रालय के राजमार्ग विस्तार के डायरेक्टर जनरल कार्यालय के अधीक्षण अभियंता टीटी नेगी ने लोक निर्माण विभाग उत्तर प्रदेश के सचिव को पत्र भेजकर कहा है कि केंद्र एवं उत्तर प्रदेश के एमओयू (मेमोरेंडम आफ अंडरस्टैंिडग) में तय हुआ है कि उत्तर प्रदेश लोक निर्माण विभाग यूपी गेट से डासना तक सड़की की चौड़ाई बढ़ाने के अलावा राजमार्ग के किनारे व्यावसायिक एवं रियल इस्टेट विकसित करने के लिए भी कार्य करेगा। राजमार्ग को छह लेन बनाने और अंडर पास बनाने के लिए लोकनिर्माण विभाग नया टेंडर जारी करेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि सड़क की चौड़ाई बढ़ाने के लिए उत्तर प्रदेश लोक निर्माण विभाग नए सिरे से टेंडर आमंत्रित करेगा। सड़क की चौड़ाई बढ़ाने के साथ ही अंडर पास का निर्माण भी किया जाएगा। लोक निर्माण विभाग राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग खंड के अधिशासी अभियंता अरविंद प्रताप सिंह ने बताया कि विभाग जल्द ही एनएच-24 के यूपी गेट से डासना तक के 20 किलोमीटर मार्ग को चार से छह लेन करने के लिए टेंडर आमंत्रित करेगा।

METRO PROJECT IN GHAZIABAD SUFFERS SETBACK.

Ghaziabad : Controversy has risen over the Delhi Metro extension from Delhi's Dilshad Garden to New Bus Stand in Ghaziabad with the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation unwilling to fund the project but the municipal commissioner seeking the Uttar Pradesh government's permission to overrule it, said a councillor.

The municipal commissioner has asked the Uttar Pradesh government to overrule the board and allow the commissioner to proceed with funding of the project, said municipal councillor Rajendra Tyagi. Giving details of the communication by the commissioner, Tyagi said this raised serious legal issues.

Addressing a press conference here, he said that the grant from infrastructure fund could be utilized for a project which incures regular income to the corporation.

In case of the metro link, the corporation would not be receiving regular income while other government agencies would be benefitted by the price escalation in their properties, he contended.

Noting municipal corporation is a self-funding government organisation to maintain the city colonies which had been developed by the authorities and realtors and were handed over to it for maintenance, Tyagi claimed that the metro project in other states like Delhi were funded by the state government. He said in the recent state budget, the Uttar Pradesh government had granted a sum of Rs 15,000 crore for the Lucknow metro project.

"But the government has not provided any fund for Ghaziabad metro project and instead a further load of Rs 185 crore had been imposed on the municipal corporation through distributed funding pattern made by the GDA (Ghaziabad Development Authority)," said Tyagi. He claimed that the sharing experience with GDA had not been good for the corporation.

In the past, GDA had assured to pay the money for the land which it sold to private builders but never did and the outstanding amount has gone to Rs 500 crore. He said it was due to this the municipal corporation has denied the funds for the metro project, but since the metro was needed, the municipality has requested the state government to provide funds. The municipal commissioner could not be contacted for comments despite several phone calls.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has decided to borrow from Japan a novel method of untangling the traffic mess at the Hero Honda Crossing on the Gurgaon Expressway.

The Ministry plans to branch out the expressway into three-four elevated stretches inside a building and is likely to soon appoint consultant to facilitate the introduction of the traffic model tried in Osaka, Japan.

It is hoped that the project on which the Hindustan Times reported on June 27, 2012, will lead to the segregation of local and interstate traffic – thereby reducing congestion at the crossing – that will later join the rest of the highway through cloverleaf roads.

THE MINISTRY ALSO DECIDED TO TRY A SIMILAR MODEL WHILE CONSTRUCTING THE EIGHT-LANE ELEVATED CORRIDOR ON THE DELHI-DASNA ROAD (UP TO EASTERN PERIPHERAL EXPRESSWAY) ON NATIONAL HIGHWAY 24 IN UTTAR PRADESH.

The proposed model is likely to pave the way for a new approach to privately funded road infrastructure projects that may not require motorists to pay toll as the project promoters would generate revenue from other sources such as rentals and advertisement.

According to the Ministry officials, similar models have been successful in crowded metros in the developed countries. The most famous example of such a project is the 16-storey Gateway Tower in Osaka, where a stretch of the Hanshin expressway passes through two floors.

ON THE DELHI-DASNA ROAD, THE OFFICIALS SAID THE CORRIDOR COULD BE DEVELOPED AS AN INTERMODAL TRANSPORT CORRIDOR WITH SUCH AS RAILWAY AND WATERWAY CONNECTIVITY AND ELECTRICITY SUPPLY. THIS COULD ALSO MINIMIZE THE NECESSITY OF LAND ACQUISITION.

THE NH-24 CORRIDOR BETWEEN DELHI AND GHAZIABAD HAS SEVERAL RESIDENTIAL COLONIES, INCLUDING INDIRAPURAM, VAISHALI, VASUNDHARA AND VIJAY NAGAR.
