The owners-cum-buyers of DLF New Town Heights are up in arms against the builder as they are being charged separately for parking.

As per the Town and Country Planning (TCP) Act, Haryana, a builder cannot charge for parking space as it is included in the common area.

According to the Haryana Apartment Owners Act, the developer is granted a licence to construct a society on the condition that it will create parking space in proportion to the number of flats, besides providing other facilities such as a clubs, health club etc.

However, developers are allegedly selling parking space separately to innocent buyers.

Tired of this violation, the owners-cum-buyers of DLF New Town Heights have formed an association and launched an online campaign to mobilise buyers of other projects.

"DLF has sold the parking area separately from the common area. The common area includes community centre, shops, schools, health centres," said Nitin Grover, president, New Town Heights Owners Association.

There are about 3,000 flats in three projects of New Town Heights coming up at Sectors 86, 90 and 91. DLF launched these projects in 2008 and they are yet to be completed.

You all have raised  a very valid point and this has been a matter of hot discussion amongst flat owners for quite a while. If  flat owners park their Two Wheeler along side their cars, in their designated parking space, how can anyone object to that and insist on buying a separate Two Wheeler parking???  In fact the concept of selling Two Wheeler parking is being done away with in many new societies, as car parking space can easily accommodate Two Wheeler also.

 Mahagun should  accede to  the fair demand  of the flat owners.

Parking issue would be a negative point for renting and resale too, like other outstanding issue.
Other issue may get resolved with time or RWA formation but parking issue would stay thers till the life of socity if it is not resolved now.

Buying a two wheeler parking along with covered parking is not going to solve the issue.

 Even If you have single two wheeler parking purchased along with a covered parking, anyone having more than one two- wheelers won't be interested to buy/rent it, Mainly single working/students share flats and have more two wheelers.

It is my personal experience that brokers don't promote societies with issue to buyers and tenants.

It is completely nonsense that we can't park your two wheels at an allocated car parking space which we purchase at double rate per square feet than flat.

Tomorrow they can say that you can't keep 3 beds in a 2 bedrooms flat.

Without judging who is right or who is wrong, I would like to mention that our sole goal is better society and a place, where more people wish to live and grow.
