Dear AOA Team,
I want to bring up a matter of grave concern - Open defecation by workers living adjacent to Mahagun Puram. A lot of people defecate right next to our society. They must not use the area right next to our boundary wall. They must use a farther place instead e.g. ground next to the stagnant water pond. Open defecation leads to dangerous water/air borne diseases. The health of all the residents is in danger here. Most importantly, our kids who spend a lot of time in the parks and playing areas.
When people defecate in the open, flies will feed on the excreta and can carry small amounts of the excreta away on their bodies and feet. When they touch food, the excreta and the germs in the excreta are passed onto the food, which may later be eaten by another person. Some germs can grow on food and in a few hours their numbers can increase very quickly. Where there are germs there is always a risk of disease.
Germs/bacteria can also travel via air and I have myself experienced foul smell coming from that side. I believe some of you must have felt this at some point.
Please take up this matter appropriately with maintenance office or whoever can help in this regard. Either these people defecate somewhere else or toilet/s should be arranged by Mahagun for them. I trust you will seriously look into this matter and act without any delay.
