Ghaziabad Metro Update : Phase II expected to reach Maharauli: GDA proposal

A very Good News about Ghaziabad Metro....

I have got a confirmed detail about proposed Ghaziabad Metro development on GDA website. I am just sharing the proposal document (Soft Copy) here. If anybody has any contact with GDA/ Metro official; they may confirm and let us know the current status.

According to GDA website:

GHAZIABAD DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY with the permission of Government of UTTAR PRADESH has taken over the metro rail projects which will connect different parts of Ghaziabad to the METRO RAIL NETWORK of National Capital. Project has been taken up to be completed in three phases.

MOU has already been signed with the Delhi METRO RAIL Corporation.

PHASE – I : Rajive Chowk To Vaishali  : Trial run is ongoing


PHASE – II : Vaishali – Indirapuram – Mahrauli: Proposed to be completed by this Year -End


PHASE – III : ISBT (Delhi) – Old Bus Stand Ghaziabad: Proposed to be completed by this Year -End

Although the time line do not seems realistic, still if there is a plan to extend Metro till Maharauli; then it would be just in front of our residence.

Also many resources (including Wikipedia) are confirming that

" The Ghaziabad Development Authority is planning to extend Delhi Metro lines further deep into Ghaziabad in 5 phases, like extension of Indraprastha - Anand Vihar - Vaishali (Ghaziabad) line from Vaishali to Mehrauli via Indirapuram(Ghaziabad)."
